Shelter is looking for someone with administration or secretarial experience gained in a legal environment to be the new Legal Administrator for their National Legal Administration Team. You could soon be playing a vital role helping people who are affected by the housing emergency. You will provide full administrative support to the Legal Team, including taking telephone calls, secretarial duties, data entry, note taking, sorting the post and managing diaries. You will also be responsible for supporting the wider team when required to ensure the effective running of the service. You will need to liaise with clients and third parties, including making appointments and obtaining information. Producing reports, providing an accurate audio typing service, processing legal funding and other documents, managing files, preparing documents for court and entering information onto a case management system are other aspects of this interesting and varied role.

Shelter is looking for a Housing solicitor. Using your legal expertise, you will play a key role in tackling housing injustice and unfair housing practices. You will be working under their Legal Aid contract, delivering legal advice and representing tenants at court where needed. Delivering systemic change through legal challenge to prevent homelessness will also be a considerable part of the role. You will also work with the team in the Hub to help make sure people in the community are aware of their housing rights and how to enforce them, as well as providing support to Trainee Solicitors and Legal Advisers, ensuring good practice and compliance.

Coram Children’s Legal Centre is looking for a new paralegal to join their dedicated, friendly and highly experienced Immigration & Asylum team. The successful candidate will assist solicitors and senior caseworkers in providing legal advice and representation to primarily legal aid funded clients, including children and young people, parents, carers and others in relation to their immigration & asylum needs.

Coram Children’s Legal Centre is the UK’s specialist centre for children’s rights championing access to justice through information and advice, legal practice and representation, policy and strategic litigation. Their Legal Practice Unit provides advice and representation in child and family law, education law, community care law and asylum and immigration law. Part of Coram’s growing Children’s Rights Centre, CCLC is co-located with Coram Voice, the specialist provider of advocacy services for young people in and leaving the care system, in the new Queen Elizabeth II Centre at the heart of their historic campus in Bloomsbury.

Coram is recruiting a Senior Billing Officer and Coordinator. This role will coordinate, oversee and supervise the Legal Practice Unit’s legal aid billing operations. Through systematic and efficient management, the post-holder will play an important role in CCLC’s financial and operational sustainability. Working with the Managing Director of Legal Practice, the Heads of Department and Coram’s central finance team, the key objective of the role is to help maximise the unit’s legal aid billing in controlled work, certificated work and inter partes costs. It will also oversee private fees billing. The post-holder will oversee the smooth running of legal aid billing. In this role, the post-holder will work very closely with legal, operations and administrative staff. The role will act as a key point of contact for a range of internal and external stakeholders including Coram’s central finance team who will support the role with grant fund management and overall accounting functions for CCLC. The post-holder will support the Managing Director of Legal Practice and Children’s Rights and department heads in the successful maintenance of our relationship with the Legal Aid Agency
