David Lammy MP, Shadow Lord Chancellor in conversation with Fiona Bawdon, legal affairs journalist.

Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year 2021 launch event.

Fiona Bawdon will be discussing topical justice issues with Labour’s MP for Tottenham and Shadow Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice. As part of this role,  Lammy has built on his landmark review of the criminal justice system, which explored the treatment of and outcomes for Black and minority ethnic people in British courts and prisons. The review included 35 wide-ranging policy recommendations for the government and criminal justice sectors. Fiona and David will explore these themes and discuss the future of the legal aid system in England and Wales.

The evening also sees the official launch of the 2021 LALY nomination process.
